Inland Revenue – Te Tari Taake plays a critical role in improving the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders. We collect 80% of the Crown’s revenue, as well as collecting and disbursing social support programme payments and providing the government with policy advice.
Enterprise Information and Knowledge’s fundamental goal is to provide a coordinated enterprise-wide approach to the management of IR’s data, information and knowledge resources and practices.
EIK provide thought leadership, practice coordination, subject matter expertise and the delivery of advice and guidance across information management, knowledge management, records management, and information and knowledge architecture. This is fundamental to IR’s knowledge works being able to make quality decisions at speed.

Mō te tūnga | About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner Enterprise Services, you will actively contribute to the Enterprise Services leadership team, share your ideas and expertise, and apply them to the way we operate internally.
In this role you will be responsible for leading:
- Enterprise information strategy & architecture who ensure there is a coherent and responsive strategy in place to guide Inland Revenue's management of information and knowledge resources, processes, and practices as valuable and performant enterprise assets.
- Data, information governance & sharing team who enables high quality and timely decisions to be made through the development of a fit-for-purpose enterprise data, information, and knowledge governance operating model. This team also includes Library & Research Services who assist with information and research requirements across our digital and physical collection.
- Information & knowledge management team who curate and use our data, information, and knowledge to ensure IR can make good decisions based on the right information at the right time.
- Digital product experience creates intelligent, contextual, and personalised digital experiences for both internal and external customers which support customer self-service and continuous learning.

To be successful in this position you will have:
- the ability to lead the development of the team’s culture, skills, and ways of working.
- strong strategic thinking ability, along with proven experience solving complex issues.
- high level of relationship development, management, and facilitation skills – including the ability to establish key strategic relationships with executive level stakeholders.
- demonstrated support for Inland Revenue’s response to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to building and supporting cultural capability.
