Job Description


The Role

We are looking for an Import/Export Officer to join our team based in the Philippines.

As an Import/Export Officer, you will:

  • Deal with all aspects of International and Domestic freight movements (Import & Export by Sea/Air/multi-model and/or Land) which includes:
    • Liaising with customers both on the telephone, by email and potentially face-to-face with regard to collections/deliveries of International/Domestic Freight movements
    • Handle confirmed booking and daily operation related inquiries, correspondence & complaint
    • Support the arrangement of shipment booking/planning (incl. consolidation/deconsolidation when required), documentation support, license application/checking (if required) and related data entry
    • Places booking with carriers
    • Provide update schedule to customers
    • Arrange pick up service & releases booking to customers when required
    • Prepares & releases Delivery Order and issuance of arrival notice
    • Process Value Added Service when required
    • Liaise with internal parties, warehouses, vendors and suppliers
    • Communicate with overseas offices for shipment arrangement to ensure shipments are handled properly and efficiently
    • Monitor the shipment status, prepare the reports for customers and system updates
    • Resolves operations discrepancy under the guide of supervisor
  • Related to costing of the job:
    • Handles local charge quotation
    • Prepare / Validates debit notes
    • Checks and post incoming cost billing
    • Prepares profit and loss with destination offices and agents
    • Validates Job Profit summary
  • Ensure all procedures are complied with governments’ regulations and rules, as well company policies
  • Perform any ad-hoc tasks / special duties / projects as assigned by the management

Qualifications


Knowledge/Experience

  • Strong Computer literacy (ability to utilise MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
  • Commercial awareness is essential in this role
  • Results-orientated and resilient
  • Analytical skills
  • Effective organisational skills with significant focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels both internally and with clients
  • Must be willing to work in ASEANA, Paranaque City

Technical/Professional Skills required

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Multi-Modal position with current hands-on experience in Air Import/export and sea import/export
  • Client Focused with strong service ethic and skills. Ability and confidence to deal with difficult customers if the need arises
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely manner
